My work represents elements of my own personality. Each work says something unique about myself. I am two people; one very much needs to be in control, the other is a free spirit. The flat geometric patterns used in the backgrounds and facades represent the controlled element; the graffiti and mark-making represent the free spirit. My work gives me the opportunity to address the problems of the modern world and to express my opinions about them.

My work is also about creation, destruction and re-creation. In my work, I create a painting that could stand on its own, but I do not stop there. Then I add graffiti, make marks, add text sometimes, even tearing away at the work--this is the destruction aspect. By juxtaposing the creative with the destructive, I am re-creating and redefining my work by combining both the representational and abstract within the same work.
